Modifying an XML File<a class="headerlink" href="#modifying-an-xml-file" title="Permalink to this headline">¶</a></h3> <p><a class="reference internal" href="#xml.etree.ElementTree.ElementTree" title="xml.etree.ElementTree.ElementTree"><tt class="xref py py-class docutils literal"><span class="pre">ElementTree</span></tt></a> provides a simple way to build XML documents and write them to files. The <a class="reference internal" href="#xml.etree.ElementTree.ElementTree.write" title="xml.etree.ElementTree.ElementTree.write"><tt class="xref py py-meth docutils literal"><span class="pre">ElementTree.write()</span></tt></a> method serves this purpose.</p> <p>Once created, an <a class="reference internal" href="#xml.etree.ElementTree.Element" title="xml.etree.ElementTree.Element"><tt class="xref py py-class docutils literal"><span class="pre">Element</span></tt></a> object may be manipulated by directly changing its fields (such as <a
